Orchards

A quarter of the fruit that is grown in the Netherlands is grown in Zeeland. The fruit trees thrive on the Zeeland clay. Especially Zuid-Beveland boasts many apple and pear orchards. The kiwi berry also does very well under the Zeeland sun. The orchards form a beautiful sight, particularly in early spring when the fruit trees are in bloom. You can cycle through the beautiful blossoming orchards. In the fall, the growers offer their fresh apples and pears for sale by the side of the road.
