How does the walking network work?
Using the hiking network, you can explore various routes in Zeeland. A hiking network consists of interconnected trails. At every junction, there is a signpost indicating the number and direction of the next junction. The great thing about these junctions is that you can use them to create your own route. Plus, you don’t have to worry about whether you’re on the right path. The trails in the hiking network have been selected based on traffic volume, quality, and the presence of interesting sights. Check out the hiking network that runs through the municipality of Kapelle below, along with our recommendation for a beautiful hiking route.

Fruit Trail
The Fruit Route is a beautiful 17-kilometer walking trail that winds its way through the orchards. It’s no coincidence that Kapelle is known as the “Blossom of Zeeland,” and this route lets you experience firsthand where that name comes from. Especially in the spring, when the fruit trees are in bloom, you can enjoy breathtaking views as you walk.
The route begins at the Fruit Growing Museum in Kapelle. Here, you can explore the history of fruit growing and learn about different fruit varieties. There is also a lovely garden featuring no fewer than 170 different apple and pear trees.
The rest of the fruit route takes you past meadows, fertile fields, and various orchards. In the orchards, once the blossoms have fallen, you can see the fruit growing rapidly every day. All summer long, you can stop at various farm stands and roadside stalls to taste and buy the fruit. For more information and to download the route: zeeland.com.
