De Yerseke and Kapelse Moer Nature Reserve

The Yerseke and Kapelse Moer Nature Reserve is a meadow bird habitat. Here, the winding paths follow the course of early medieval tidal channels. Small ditches that seem insignificant may well turn out to be a 1,000-year-old creek. Over time, more and more small polders were diked, and the islands in the area slowly grew together. All these areas are rich in natural beauty. Many different waterbirds can be found here, and the vegetation is also very diverse. In Zuid-Beveland, about a thousand different plant species grow.

Hiking Trail

Between July 15 and October 15, you can walk right through the area here. The red hiking trail (2.5 km) takes you right into the heart of the landscape, sometimes over marshy ground. Information panels along the way provide explanations. The trail starts at the Schelvrijweg/Reeweg intersection in Yerseke.
