Walk Through Historic Kapelle
Would you like to learn more about the history of Kapelle? Then join Bas Chamuleau on a walk past some of the village’s most interesting spots—it’s a wonderful way to get to know Kapelle’s history and its former residents better. Anyone interested in Kapelle’s past is warmly welcome.
What can you expect?
Bas Chamuleau takes you on a tour of historic sites in Kapelle. Along the way, he tells you about the history of the places and objects you see along the route. You’ll hear stories about:
- the oldest residents of Kapelle
- The Origins of the Village
- the original landscape
- Floods and How Kapelle Weathered Them
- the boat trip to the market in Goes
- Mr. Van der Maalstede and Mr. Bruëlis
- what the Van der Bilt family meant to Kapelle.
Practical information
The walks will take place on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. The walk starts in front of the town hall in Kapelle. From there, you’ll walk about 1.8 kilometers in 1.5 hours. You don’t need to wear any special clothing or shoes. Participation is free. Do you have any questions?
