The Fruit-Growing Village of Biezelinge

Biezelinge was originally a port town, one of the most important in Zuid-Beveland. The village developed on the edge of a large creek. Over the course of the17th century, the harbor became increasingly silted up and eventually lost its function. Today, it is a fruit-growing village with many apple and pear orchards. Especially in the spring, it is a magnificent sight when the fruit trees are in bloom. Would you like to learn more about the history of fruit and fruit growing?
